تعلم مهارتي الضرب والقسمة ضروري جداً، وهو من أسس تعلم الرياضيات وكثيراً ما يتعثر الأطفال في تعلم هاتين المهارتين، ولا يتقنونهما؛ لذا قمنا في هذا الإصدار بعض تلك المهارتين ببساطة بل ويمرح أيضاً فيتعلم الطفل ويتقن وهو يظن أنه يلعب ويلهو؛ وذلك من خلال الدمج بين النمط التقليدي في التعلم والنمط الترفيهي.
وكثيراً ما ربطنا الأرقام المجردة بصور من بيئة الطفل فيعدها ويحسبها ليصل بنفسه إلى الناتج دون الحاجة إلى الحفظ التكراري من البداية، فهو غير محبب للأطفال في مراحل تعليمهم الأولى خاصة إن كان المحفوظ قيم مجردة لا تمثل لهم، حسب ظنهم - أي فائدة.
كما ربطنا مهارة الضرب بمهارة الجمع التكراري حيث يصل لناتج الضرب بعد فهم وإدراك فكرة الضرب عن طريق التكرار حتى يدرك الطفل أن الضرب عملية مختصرة لجمع المتكررات، ثم منها يتعلم الطفل حقائق الضرب الأساسية بالعد المتسلسل.
وكذلك ربطنا مهارة القسمة بمهارة الطرح والعد النازل وعلى تكرار مرات التنقيص، فيتعلم بذلك الطفل مهارتين جديتن (الضرب والقسمة) ويراجع أيضاً مهارتين سابقتين (الجمع والطرح).
كل ذلك يتم في جو من البهجة والمتعة للطفل وهذه طريقتنا التي نراها مثلى في التعلم وهو التعلم المرح فكانت سلسلتنا تعلم وامرح الذي يمثل هذا الكتاب أحد إصداراتها.
