يشكل هذا الكتاب قراءة في مرتكزات الحكمة المتعالية التي تختص بفلسفة صدر المتألهين السيد كمال الحيدري والتي يبحث خلالها في الطريق والمنهج الذي يوصل المسلم للكشف عم حقائق الموجودات الخارجية كما هي في الواقع هذا من جهة، ومن جهة اخرى تسعى هذه الفلسفة إلى إثبات تلك الحقائق للآخرين فمثلاً يقول الكاتب "الحقيقة التي تصل إليها الإنسان من خلال الكشف والوحي والرؤيا والحدس ونحوها لا يمكن إيصالها للآخرين، "من هنا تبدو الحاجة أكثر إلحاحاً إلى إثبات تلك الحقائق للآخرين، ولكن ذلك لا يتم دون الاستعانة بالأسلوب والمنهج العقلي الذي اتبعه فلاسفة كثر على مرَ التاريخ. وهذه الفلسفة كان لها مدارس ومسالك مختلفة وجدت على مسرح الفكر الإنساني في سبيل تكوين هذه الرؤية الكونية أو تلك... من هنا جاء هذا الكتاب ليستعرض تلك المدارس وعلمائها والمتكلمون فيها وهي: المدرسة المشائية، المدرسة الكلامية، المدرسة العرفانية، المدرسة الإشراقية، مدرسة الحكمة المتعالية، هذا في القسم الأول من الكتاب، أما القسم الثاني فيحتوي على "قراءة في فلسفة صدر المتالهين" و"نظرية المعاد الجسماني في مدرسة صدر الدين الشيرازي"، "نظرية العلم والعالم والمعلوم (العاقل والمعقول)، و "نظرية تجسم الأعمال"... وفلسفات أخرى...
