يمثل الشاعر السعودي "علي بافقيه" إضافة عميقة التأثير في التجربة الشعرية الحديثة في السعودية، وفي كتابه هذا مجموعتان شعريتان الأولى "رقيات" والثانية "جلال الأشجار"، هي قصائد تعبر عما يسميه الشاعر اكتشاف جوهر قصيدة التفعيلة، ومدى الدهشة بغياهب النص وشوارده وتجلياته في قصيدة التفعيلة.
وفي هذا الديوان تعبير أكثر عن إنسانية الحياة ومعاناتها، تمتلئ بمفردات الرقة والإشتياق والهيام وفي هذا يقول شاعرنا "سوف ابقى وأموت مشتاقاً وهائماً" .. ليس الأمر عذرياً.. فالمرأة مرأة، والرجل رجل.. كل ما في الأمر أنني أتعامل مع المرأة بشراً سوياً، حباً في المرأة والدفاع عن إنسانيتها". وفي "مجنونك يا رقية" قدرة أكثر على اجتراح اللفظ وصوغ العبارات بزخم عاطفي كبير يعبر عن جماليات مخبوءة في ذات الشاعر: يقول: "كالقمح يا حبيبتي/ أملودك الرشيق/ تمشين يا حبيبتي/ فيهجس الطريق/ يسير في عباءةٍ/ وطرحةٍ/ غصن من العقيق!/ وجهك يا حبيبتي/ منازد المطر/ تضحك في مياهه/ الغيوم والشجر/ إن أظلمت مسالكي/ لي وجهك القمر(...)".
هذا الكتاب ترنيمات شاعر منفتح على الحياة والطبيعة والإنسان تمتزج في قصائده تجربة الإنسان، بالتاريخ، وبالطبيعة، والمرأة كذلك.
محتويات الكتاب: قسَم الشاعر كتابه إلى قسمين: الأول بعنوان "رقبات" ويضم ثلاثة عشر قصيدة، والقسم الثاني بعنوان "جلال الأشجار" ويضم أربع عشرة قصيدة.
