فكانت المباحث التي تضع وضع البداهة العلاقات بين اللغة والثقافة، بين النسق والفرد، بين الهوية والقيم، سبيلنا إلى صياغة فصول هذا الكتاب التي تتمحور بشكل أو بآخر حول مفهوم الصورة الثقافية بعدّها علامة بما هي نتاج لمواضعات وأسنان ثقافية.
إن البحث عن سيميوزيس الصورة الثقافية الذي من خلاله تصطنع الصورة - العلامة آثار معانيها في مسار تواصلي ديناميكي، هو بحث أبعد ما يكون عن "الواقع" ولكنه بحث عن مجمل التأويلات التي يمنحها أعضاء مجموعة لما يدعونه بالـ"الواقع"، فهي تواضع جماعي ضمني متعارف عليه من الكل لكن لا أثر له في الصحائف.
إن المقاربة السيميائية لهذا السيميوزيس ستكسر هذا التماهي بين الصورة الثقافية والواقع لتنقلنا إلى مسار تحليلي من شأنه أن يعرج بنا إلى وجهة أخرى تتولى إعادة تشكيل الفضاء الثقافي والإجتماعي والأيديولوجي الذي تتموضع عبره الصورة، أو بعبارة مختصرة إعادة صياغة المخيال الثقافي الذي نقدمه كأفق للبحث في سيميائيات الصورة الثقافية، والذي يعد فضاء تتجلى عبر صوره الطريقة التي يرى بها المجتمع ذاته عبر الآخر، مما يمكننا، بشكل أكثر جدية، من إعادة التفكير في المناهل الأيديولوجية والأسطورية للصورة الثقافية التي جعلتها كثير من الثقافات درعها في تبرير سياسة الإنطواء على الذات يغلب عليها شعور غامر بعقدة التفوق، أو في تمرير سياسة الإرتماء في أحضان الآخر بأسرها شعور بالدونية.
