لقد أرسل الله تعالى وتبارك رسوله بالحق مبيناً الدين للناس وأراهم الحق حقاً وألزمهم اتباعه وحذرهم الباطل والوقوع فيه، غير أن البعض قد أحدث في الدين ما ليس منه، وربما انتشرت هذه المحدثات وعمق لجهل الناس بها وعدم أخذهم بعلم الدين الصحيح.
وقد انبرى مؤلف هذا الكتاب أبو بكر الجزائري لبيان صحيح العقائد والعبادات من باطلها، ميسراً ذلك على الطالبين إذ جمعها في كتاب واحد ضم ستاً وعشرين رسالة بين فيها ما الإيمان والإسلام وموجبات الإسلام ومحرمات الإسلام، والحدود الإسلامية والعقود الشرعية المباحة والمباحات في الإسلام والآداب الإسلامية والأخلاق الإسلامية، وبين أو ولاية الله تتحقق للعبد بفعل محابه وترك مكارهه. وعرض لسياسة الإسلام، سياسات الفرد والأسرة وسياسة أهل القرى وإحياء المدن وسياسة الدولة، كما عرض لأركان الدولى الإسلامية والجهاد في سبيل الله وآداب المساجد وواجباتها كما بين أحكام حلق اللحى والمرور بين يدي المصلي وتريك السبابة في التشهدين والأمراض وعلاجها وغير ذلك من الأبواب التي لا بد لكل مسلم من الإطلاع عليها ومعرفتها.
