النص الذي نَحْيا به... عنوانٌ مُستعار من كتاب ليكوف وجونسون "الإستعارات التي نَحْيا بها"؛ يُرادُ به البرهنةُ على أنَّ النصَّ لا يقفُ عندَ صفَتِهِ اللغويّة المركّبةِ من أصواتٍ ومَقاطعَ وأبنيةٍ وتَراكيبَ ودوالَّ، ولكنّه فعلٌ وحَدَثٌ وإنجازٌ، يُرافقُ الإنسانَ في أحواله كلها؛ فهو فعلٌ وفكرٌ وحدثٌ كلاميّ وإطارٌ عام لنشاطاته المختلفّة في التواصل والتلقي والحديث والإنجاز والإبداع والتصور الذّهنيّ.
النص إعادة تَركيب للعالَم وفق اختيارات وخطط ومواقعَ.
وعلم النّصّ وليد شرعيّ للسانيات، فهي التي أخرجَتُه من الخلُط المعرفيّ الذي كان يكتنفُه ومن غُموضِ الحُدودِ إلى وُضوح المفاهيم والمصطلحات.
وقَد جَعَلَ المفكر اللسانيُّ "فان دايك" علمَ النص يأخذُ من البَلاغة مَفاهيمَها وتطبيقاتها، ولكنّه مَنَعَ أن تنتقلَ معياريّةُ البّلاغة الغربيّة القَديمَة إلى علم النّصّ.
