حينما فكرنا في مركز "الغد العربي" في عقد ورشة عمل حوارية حول الحالة الفلسطينية الراهنة، والمستقبل الفلسطيني على ضوء تداعيات الانتخابات الفلسطينية، وفوز حماس بأغلبية مقاعد التشريعي، ومن ثم تشكيلها الحكومة الفلسطينية... كان الهاجس الأساس بالنسبة لنا أن تخرج عن نمطية الحوارات السائدة في الساحة الفلسطينية، لتكون ورشة العمل هذه هي بالفعل ساحة معرفية للحوار والمكاشفة الحرة والصريحة، ومن أجل ذلك مهدنا للحوار بتحضير ورقة عمل تضمنت مجموعة من الأسئلة الإشكالية حول تفسير الحالة الفلسطينية، ومستقبل النظام السياسي الفلسطيني، لذلك كنا حريصين أن يجتمع على طاولة الحوار قادة الفصائل الفلسطينية، باعتبارهم فاعلين سياسيين وأصحاب قرار الى جانب مجموعة من الباحثين المهتمين بقضايا الشأن العام.
وبالتالي أن يواجه على سبيل المثال الأخ خالد مشعل رئيس المكتب السياسي لحركة المقاومة الإسلامية "حماس" بسيل من المداخلات والأسئلة التي تعبر عن قلق وهواجس حقيقية في الساحة الفلسطينية لهو أمر شديد الأهمية، وأن يبادر الأخ خالد مشعل الى الإجابة عن كل هذه التساؤلات بكل شفافية وجدية لهو أمر لا يقل أهمية عن الهاجس السابق، لأن محصلة هذه الحوارات التي يضمها هذا الكتاب وضحت وأضاءت وفسّرت الكثير من الجوانب الإشكالية في الساحة الفلسطينية وتشابكاتها العربية والإقليمية والدولية.
