تحت عنوان "الحجارة والسُنبلة" يقدم الدكتور مسلم حسب حسين / أستاذ النقد الأدبي في جامعة البصرة دراسة في بنية اللغة الشعرية بشكل عام، وتجربة الشاعر موسى الكسواني بشكل خاص كونها تجربة ذات قيمة جمالية نابعة من جماليات اللغة وتوظيفها توظيفاً فنياً عالياً من جهة أخرى. وقد اعتمد المؤلف في هذه الدراسة منهجية نصية، تقوم على تقصي سياقات النص وعلاقاته اللغوية، لاستغوار دلالاته العميقة في ضوء السياق الكلي للتجربة الشعرية - وهي منهجية - أكثر انسجاماً مع طبيعة الممارسة النقدية الموضوعية التي يمتاز بها المؤلف، الذي يقرأ النتاج الشعري للكسواني على المستوى الدلالي والبناء الفني وهو ما تناوله في مبحث الصورة الشعرية التي تتحول فيها التشبيهات والإستعارات والصيغ البلاغية الأخرى، إلى أدوات تساهم في توسيع المدن وتعميقه، في بنية شعرية متجانسة يذوب فيها الشكل والمحتوى ليجسد بنية النص الكلية.
وبناءً عليه، تحت دراسة شعرية موسى الكسواني في هذا الكتاب بالإستناد إلى ثلاثة عناوين رئيسية هي: الفصل الأول: الأسلوب والدلالة الإيحائية، الفصل الثاني: البنية الرمزية ووظيفتها الدلالية، 3- بنية الصورة الشعرية ووظائفها الدلالية والجمالية، وأخيراً (ملحق) النصوص الشعرية المدروسة وهي "ومضات من شرفة الإنتفاضة" ، "أنت الآن أغنية" ، "أنبياء" ، "يوسف الشقي" ، "صابر في المنفى" "إحتراق" ، "يا لغاري" ، "الجنوبي" ، "عيسى العائد" و "داود سلام ومحبة".
