يبحث هذا الكتاب في سيرة ومسيرة الأمير شاكر بن زيد (1885- 1934) من خلال ما تضمنه من وثائق تاريخية تنشر لأول مرة والتي يتعرف من خلالها القارئ الكريم على جوانب مضيئة ومهمة من حياة الأمير الهاشمي، وما قدمه من خدمات جليلة لأمتة ولعائلته (آل البيت) الذين أذهب الله عنهم الرجس وطهرهم تطهيراً.
لقد أفردنا الجزء الأكبر والأهم من هذا الكتاب للوثائق المحفوظة في الديوان الملكي الهاشمي العامر والحافلة بالوقائع والأعمال التي قام بها الأمير شاكر بن زيد خدمة لأمته بتوجيهات سامية من لدن جلالة المغفور له الملك عبد الله بن الحسين أحد أركان النهضة العربية ومؤسس الدولة الأردنية.
