هذه الرواية تحاول أن تنشر في قلب المؤمن وغير المؤمن أهمية معرفة الله وضرورتها، وأن الحياة لا تستقيم من دونها، وأن القلب لا يدرك ضالته من دونها.. وهي تتوسل لذلك بكل أنواع الحجج العقلية والعاطفية وغيرها..
وتدور أحداثها حول رجل دين مسيحي يزور المؤلف، ثم يحكي له قصة اهتدائه لله، والتي بدأت من خلال تكليفه من طرف الكنيسة بالذهاب صحبة هيئة علمية أرسلها الفاتيكان لحضور مؤتمر علمي حول الله في الأديان المختلفة.. وقبل الوصول إلى المؤتمر نزلت الطائرة التي تقلهم اضطراريا في مكان مجهول، وحين ييأسس الركاب من أن ينقذهم أحد يقفون مواقف مختلفة.. أما الملاحدة واللادينين، فمنهم من ينتحر، ومنهم من يصاب بالجنون.. وأما غيرهم، فيتضرعون إلى الله.. كل حسب دينه الذي يعتقده.. لكن شخصا منهم خاطبهم بقوله: (نحن من بلاد مختلفة.. منا من يؤمن بالله.. ومنا من لا يؤمن به.. ونحن نختلف فيما بيننا اختلافا شديدا في معارفنا المرتبطة بالله.. ولا يمكن لدعواتنا أن ترتفع للآلهة المزيفة.. فلذلك لا مناص لنا من البحث عن الإله الحقيقي حتى نرفع أكفنا بالضراعة إليه).
وهنا يبدأ كل باحث من الهيئة العلمية يدلي بشهادته الصادقة عن معارفه التي وصل إليها من خلال زيارته لبلاد المسلمين..
وفي الأخير.. وبعد اهتدائهم لله.. ودعائهم له، قيض الله لهم من ينقذهم..
