في هذا الكتاب دراسات استطلاعية تحليلية لأشهر التراكيب اللغوية في العربية اعتمد فيها الباحث منهجاً وصفياً تطبيقياً قائماً على النظر في اللغة المكتوبة المستقاة من القرآن الكريم والحديث الشريف وأقوال العرب وشعرهم قديماً وحديثاً، وكتب النحو واللغة والتفسير وعلى رأسها كتاب سيبويه والمقتصب بحثاً عن الأنماط العديدة لهذه التراكيب.
وقد انطلق الباحث في هذا العمل - الذي يضعه بين يدي المهتمين بدراسة أو بتدريس نحو اللغة العربية- من الظن بأن صور هذه التراكيب وغيرها ما يزال أكثره عائماً متشعباً مختلف المظاهر والسياقات، وهو بعد هذا تفاريق في كتب النحو واللغة والتفسير لا يمكن للمرء أن يهجم عليها، إذا لم ينظر تفاريقها وأنماطها بما يمكنه من تحديد ماهيتها واستنباط نظام كل منها.
وقد سلك الباحث في دراسته منهجاً قائماً على الوصف واستقصاء التراكيب العربية بفرزها من القرآن الكريم وكتب اللغة والنحو التفسير وغير ذلك، وصولاً إلى تبويبها وتركيب قواعدها وأنظمتها على وفق أهميتها العملية، فإذا استقام له ذلك راح يحاول بتواضع أن يدلو بدوله في بعض مسائل هذا التركيب أو ذاك مرجحاً، أو مصوباً، أو رافضاً متى أسعفته الحجة وأيدته البراهين.
ولقد وزع الكتاب على أحد عشر فصلاً ثبتها على وفق الحرف الهجائية فبدأت بتراكيب الاستفهام، وانتهى بتراكيب النفي، وقد اقتنضته بعض التراكيب أن يدون لها بعض المبادئ والمقدمات لتكون مفتاحاً لعرضها ودراستها على هيئة مباحث.
