الخشوع في الصلاة فرض واجب فهو لبّ الصلاة وروحها ومعناها، قال تعالى: "حافظوا على الصلاة والصلاة الوسطى وقوموا لله قانتين". والرسالة التي بين يدينا جاءت لتتحدث عن الخشوع في الصلاة حيث عرفت أولاً بالخشوع من ثم حدّدت حكمة في الصلاة، بعد ذلك تناولت مراتب الخشوع، من ثم ذكرت الأمور التي تهيء النفس للخشوع وهي: سرعة القيام للصلاة، التفكير في النداء، إتيان الصلاة بهيبة ووقار، صلاة الجماعة، ذكر المعاني التي تعين على الخشوع، الاقتداء بالنبي صلّى الله عليه وسلّم في صلاته". بعد ذلك توقفت الرسالة عند مداخل الشيطان في الصلاة وكيفية مجاهدته، الفوائد المترتبة على الخشوع، آثار خشوع النبي صلّى الله عليه وسلّم وأصحابه والتابعين.
