إن حفظ الحروف بترتيبها الهجائي هو أول ما يسعى إليه المربون والآباء في تعليم أبنائهم، ولا شك أن هذه الخطوة مهمة في مسار التعليم، وكم تكون سعادة الوالدين إذا حفظ أحد أبنائها الحروف الهجائية مرتبة (أ- ب- ت- ث- ج- ح- خ- د……..ي)، وذلك لأهمية هذه الحروف في تشكيل قاموس مفردات الطفل فيما بعد، حيث يبدأ الطفل بعدها بتكوين كلمات من هذه الحروف، ويتعلم مهارة تهجئة هذه الكلمات وتقطيعها وتركيبها.
ونحن في هذا الكتاب نتناول هذه المهارات جميعها بأسلوب شيق وممتع، ونهجنا فيه أسلوب (التعليم بالترفيه)، حيث نعلم الطفل هذه المهارات لكن بصورة غير مباشرة، فإذا طلبت منه مثلاً أن يصل النقاط ليكوِّن الشكل بادئاً من حرف الحاء مثلاً إلى حرف الهاء، فإن الطفل يتقن ترتيب هذه المجموعة من الحروف، ويكون هدفه الأساسي الذي يسعد به هو إكمال الشكل.
ويأتي الهدف التعليمي متسللاً وراء ذلك دون أن يشعر الطفل، وكذلك إذا طلبت منه أن يكمل الشكل بإستخدام جملة معينة، فإنه يقوم بتحليل الكلمات وتهجئتها ليضعها في الترتيب المطلوب ليكتمل الشكل، وهذا ينتقل الطفل من حرف إلى حرف ومن كلمة إلى كلمة، فتكون المحصلة في النهاية إتقان للحروف بجميع المهارات المتعلقة بها.
فيكون هذا الكتاب بذلك إحدى خطوات إتقان القراءة التي تعني في أبسط معانيها التعرف على الحروف ومجموعاتها بوصفها رموزاً تمثل أصواتاً مخصوصة.
