يهدف هذا البحث إلى استعراض وتوضيح ومضات من سير وحياة الأنبياء عليهم السلام كما وردت في الكتب السماوية: التوراة والإنجيل والقرآن الكريم.
وقد قسم هذا البحث إلى أربعة فصول رئيسة: الفصل الأول: عالج صور من سير الأنبياء عليهم السلام كما وردت في أسفار التوراة والعهد القديم.
الفصل الثاني: استعرض سيرة وحياة السيد المسيح عليه السلام كما ورد ذكره في الإنجيل. فكل إنجيل في العهد الجديد إنما ينسب إلى شخص ما وليس بينها إنجيل واحد منسوب إلى السيد المسيح نفسه. و(العهد الجديد) الذي يختص بالمسيحيين وحدهم، فيتألف من مجموعة من الكتب اليونانية، وهي الأناجيل الأربعة: مرقس، لوقا، متى، يوحنا، وسفر أعمال الرسل والرسائل.
الفصل الثالث: ويتحدث عن بعثة الرسول الكريم محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم.
الفصل الرابع: ويتحدث عن البشارات بالرسول محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم في الكتب السماوية (التوراة والإنجيل والزبور)، ولقد تم استعراض البشائر بالرسول الكريم محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم على ألسنة الأنبياء في التوراة والإنجيل والزبور واستخراج اسمه الصريح من كتبهم، وذكر نعته وصفته وسيرته في كتبهم.
