يستيقظ (مهدي) مربكاً على أثر إتصال مفاجئ من رقم خاص بعد منتصف الليل، ليستمع إلى صوت يطلب منه الإستعداد للذهاب في سيارة دفع رباعي تنتظره وبأسرع ما يمكن، وبعد دقائق من إستقلالها، يجد نفسه في واحدة من أكثر المقرات الأمنية رعباً في بغداد، حيث يتم إكتشاف شيء مثير للإضطراب والإرتباك، وبرسالة نصية، يُدخل معه (مها) في تلك المشكلة.
أثر ذلك تدب الفوضى في حياة (مهدي)، وتتسارع الأحداث عبر إيقونات بغدادية وتاريخية ونصوص غامضة، حيث يكتشف مدى عبقرية اللغز الذي وجد نفسه بين فصوله يحاول فك شفراته...
على هذه الخلفية، يواجه (مهدي) خصماً رهيباً، بينما يتشبث بامل الوصول إلى ما يخفيه اللغز في الوقت المناسب، والذي من شأنه أن ينقذ العراق من براثن الإنهيار العالمي المرعب، وإن تأخر، فسيمضي الإنهيار بالبلاد إلى الهاوية.
