وتهدف التنشئة إلى تزويد الفرد في مراحل عمره المختلفة بالمعايير والإتجاهات المناسبة لأدوار إجتماعية معينة تساعده على مسايرة المجتمع والتكيف معه وتسهل عملية الإندماج في الحياة الإجتماعية؛ إضافة إلى ذلك تعمد التنشئة إلى مساعدة الفرد على النمو السليم في مواهبه وقدراته، وكذلك مساعدته ليكون عضواً نشيطاً فاعلاً في نطاق المجتمع؛ ولكن هناك عوامل كثيرة تؤثر في عملية التنشئة الإجتماعية منها الثقافة، والأسرة والمدرسة، وجماعة الرفاق ووسائل الإعلام، ودور العبادة.
