إنّ كتابة السيرة ليست كأي كتابة، بل هي كناية عن فعل إيماني محض، والتأمل في حياة الرسول الأكرم، هو تأمل في الإسلام الروحي المحُمَّدي، الذي جسّده (صلى الله عليه وسلم) في حياته قولاً وعملاً، بحيث أصبحت حياته وأقواله هي الأنوار المشِعَة للقرآن الكريم المكتوب، ومن شأنه معايشة السِّيرة، بكل تفاصيلها، والعودة إلى مصادر النبع الصافي للإسلام، أن تُثَمِّر إيمان المسلم وتُزكيّه.
ولقد جسّد لنا الرسول الأكرم كل ذلك في سيرته، ولذلك أصبحت قراءتها وأتباعها شرطاً إيمانياً ومعرفياً ملزماً.
من هنا، سعى المؤلف حسين غباش إلى تقديم قراءة حديثة في سيرة الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم إتماماً للفائدة.
"المعرفة رأسمالي، والعقل أصل ديني، والشوق مركبي، وذكر الله أنيسي، والثقة كنزي، والعلم سلاحي، والصبر ردائي، والرضى غنيمتي، والفقر فخري، والزهد حرفتي، والصدق شفيعي، والطاعة حبي، والجهاد خلقي، وقُرّة عيني في الصلاة".
(عن فلسفة الرسول الأكرم في الحياة، نقلا ًعن حديثه مع علي رضي الله عنه). "افشوا السلام…الله السلام… قد أفلح من زينه الله في قلبه… أحبوا ما أحب الله. أحبوا الله من كل قلوبكم". (في أول خطبة له في المدينة المنورة). "إذا أتى عليّ يوم لا أزداد فيه علماً، فلا بورك لي في طلوع شمس ذلك اليوم!" (حديث شريف).
