كميل نمر شمعون, رئيس جمهورية لبنان سابقاُ ومن رجالات الاستقلال.
- مواليد 3 نيسان 1900 في دير القمر.
- نال اجازة في الحقوق سنة 1923 من جامعة القديس يوسف في بيروت.
- أصبح نائباً في البرلمان اللبناني في سن الرابعة والثلاثين عن دائرة جبل لبنان.
- كان وزيراً للداخلية، والبريد والبرق في ايلول سنة 1943، في حكومة الرئيس رياض الصلح، أي حكومة الاستقلال وتمّ سجنه من قبل الفرنسيين.
-انتخب رئيساً للجمهورية سنة 1952 بعد استقالة بشارة الخوري.
شهد نهاية عهده اضطرابات عرفت باحداث 1958 -.
أسس سنة 1958 ايضا حزب الوطنيين الأحرار.
ترأس سنة 1976 الجبهة اللبنانية أحد ابرز طرفي الصراع أثناء الحرب الأهلية اللبنانية.
- له عدة مؤلفات أهمها: مراحل الاستقلال.
