بعدها ندخل في أزمنة بيروت مع الكنعانيين، الفراعنة، الهكسوس والحثيين لنتعرف من خلال هذه الأزمنة على الصناعة والتجارة والزراعة والموسيقى والأرجوان التي عرفتها في بيروت القديمة.
ثم ننتقل إلى التعرف على ازدهار بيروت أيام الفينيقيين من خلال التجارة عبر مرفأ بيروت في القرنين السادس والخامس قبل الميلاد.
بعدها نغور في زمن الرومان الذين أحبوا بيروت وبنوا فيها أهم معهد للحقوق وميدان سباق الخيل الأول والخامس في الشرق.
أما من حيث العمارة فقد اشتهرت بيروت بتحصيناتها وأسوارها وأبراجها وأسواقها التجارية.
ما من أحد زار بيروت إلا وعشقها، الدليل على ذلك الدراسات والانطباعات للرحالة الذين زاروا بيروت وتأثّروا بها.
