في مؤلفنا هذا طرحنا المعارف الفردية والفئوية والمجتمعية القديمة والحديثة ومعوقاتها البشرية ليطلع عليها أصحاب هذا الاختصاص ليضيفوا عليها ما يستطيعوا إضافته من أفكار أو نقد أو تصحيح أو تقويم. ففي الفصل الأول تناولنا موضوع المعرفة الاجتماعية مضمونها وإيقاعاتها في الحياة الاجتماعية واجبنا على تساؤلات متداولة بين دارسي هذا الحقل السوسيولوجي، الفصل الثاني على تصنيف المعارف الاجتماعية بعضها جديدة لم يتطرق لها علم الاجتماع المعرفي في الماضي لأنها مستجدة بذات الوقت حددنا المعوقات المجتمعية والتنظيمية والفردية التي تقف حائلاً في نمو المعرفة عند الفرد والمجتمع معاً أما الفصل الثالث فقد اهتم بطرح ما يسمى بالنظريات المعرفية عند علماء الاجتماع أردفنا ذاك باستدراك خاص بها. بينما قد الفصل الرابع البناء المعرفة وأنساقه الأربعة (الرئيسية) وانهينا مؤلفنا بالفصل الخامس الذي احتوى على المنتجات العقلية المتسامية مثل اليوتوبيا والإيديولوجيا التي طرحها المفكرون وأصحاب المعارف الخلاقة.
