يجمع هذا الكتيب مقالات نشرت عام 2012م حاولت فيها رسم صورة للباجي قايد السبسي، وصدرته بمدخل افتتاحي مستوحى من جو انتخابات 2014 آنذاك والتباساتها. لكنني ما كدت أنهيه حتى بدأت النتائج الأولية بالظهور مبشرة بتفوق واضح لحركة نداء تونس على حزب النهضة الإسلامي، ومعلنة عن حدوث انقلاب كامل في صفوف الأغلبية المنتخبة.
في الفصول الأربعة التي نشرتها منذ أربع سنوات رسمت صورة الرجل اعتماداً على ما جاء في كتابه ومداخلاته في مختلف المجالات العمومية، ولم أحاول، كجميع من حولي، الرجم بالغيب لأنبئ ما يخبئه القدر لمستقبل الباجي قايد السبسي أو لحركته نداء تونس، فما بالك لمصير الثورة التونسية ذاتها. لم أتصور أنه سيترشح لرئاسة الجمهورية. وهل كان يعلم هو نفسه يومها أنه سيفعل ذلك؟ خاصة وأن المجلس التأسيسي لم يبدأ بعد بكتابة الفصل الأول من الدستور، أما الانتخابات القادمة فقد تأجل موعدها الى وقت غير معلوم.
