لا شك أن المشتغل في حقل من حقول الثقافة والإبداع هو منتج وفاعل ومشارك، وكل منتج أو مبدع إنما يخلق وقائع وينتج حقائق (متخيلة، أو واقعية) في مجاله أو محيطه أو مجتمعه وعلى كل المستويات، وسواء تعلق الأمر بالشعر أو الرواية، بالفلسفة أو الدين فإن الكتابة تشكل بالتأكيد جزءاً من الحقيقة إن لم تكن الحقيقة كلها. ولنتوقف في هذا العمل عند (جذوة الدهشة) التي تشكل جزءاً من حياة مؤلفها المهنية الأستاذ عبد العزيز حمود الشريف ليخبرنا عن (مادة) كانت حبيسة أدراجه قرابة خمسة عشر عاماً، وها هو اليوم يبعثها في "جذوة الدهشة"، بعد أن أحيا فكرة خروجها للحياة تحريض من الأصدقاء والأحبة.
يقول المؤلف: "حينما فكرت في إعداد هذا الكتاب عدت بالذاكرة إلى فترة خصبة من حياتي الصحفية الثقافية، التي امتدت بين عامي 1413 و 1421ه ، في صحيفة البلاد ومن خلال ملحقها الثقافي الأسبوعي البهي "روافد" الذي مثّل علامةً فارقةً في مشهدنا الثقافي، والذي حوى هذه السلسلة من اللقاءات مع هذه الأسماء الإبداعية التي حضرت في كتابي "جذوة الدهشة" ..." ويتابع المؤلف "إن ملمح الكتاب بل نواته البكر الغوص في شخصية الضيف بعيداً عن النتاج الكتابي؛ لأنني كنت أريد الوصول إلى جذوة الولادة الأولى للنص وكيفية أن يحط هذا المضطرب في أرض فضاء وينغرس فيها عشباً أخضرَ محملاً بالجمال والأماني العذبة والحب والحياة (...) كل ما أرجوه وأتمناه أن أكون وفقت في إضافة ما هو مفيد ويخدم المشهد الثقافي ...".
وعليه يجمع هذا الكتاب حوارات أجراها المؤلف مع ستة عشر أديباً تحدثوا فيها عن تجربتهم الأولى في الكتابة وهم كما ورد في الكتاب: 1- عبد العزيز مشري، 2- سعد الحميدين، 3- فهد الخليوي، 4- إبراهيم شحبي، 5- فهد العلي العريفي، 6- حسن السبع، 7- محمود تراوري، 8- حسين سهيل، 9- علي الدميني، 10- حزام العتيبي، 11- محمد الشقحاء، 12- يوسف العارف، 13- أحمد الدويحي، 14- خالد اليوسف، 15- علي آل عمر عسيري، و 16- محمد عابس.
