هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى التعرف على صورة المرأة الأردنية كما قدمت في الصحافة الأردنية اليومية (الرأي، الدستور والغد)، وتوصلت إلى إن صورة المرأة الأردنية في الصحف الثلاث هي صورة إيجابية لكن غير متوازنة تماماً، لقد بينت النتائج المرأة الأردنية متقلدة مهنا عليا، ومتعاونة مع مجتمعها، كما أبرزت النتائج الإهتمام بنشاطات المرأة غير الرسمية أكثر من النشاطات الرسمية، وتركز الإهتمام على المرأة في العاصمة دون غيرها من مناطق المملكة.
هذه النتائج في مجملها بينت أن صورة المرأة لم تكن متوازنة، بل كان فيها إنحياز للمرأة في المدن، واهملت الشرائح النسائية في الريف والبادية، وهذه النتائج تدل على عدم وجود سياسة واضحة لحارس البوابة الإعلامية بخصوص المرأة.
فأوصت الدراسة بصياغة أجندة واضحة إزاء المرأة بهدف إبراز الجوانب الشاملة لإستكمال معالم الصورة، مما يساعد في أن تعكس الصحافة جميع عناصر نشاط المرأة في كافة أرجاء المملكة، ليعزز دورها فتصبح شريكاً حقيقياً في تنمية المجتمع.
