إن الحاجة المتزايدة للعلماء والمبتكرين التي يتطلبها التطور الحضاري المتسارع في عالم اليوم دعت الباحثين إلى البحث عن تقنيات جديدة لتنمية التفكير الإبتكاري لدى الطلبة الذين يتوقع منهم بعد تخرجهم أن يرفدوا المؤسسات العلمية والإجتماعية المتنوعة بما هو جديد من الأفكار لحل مشكلات الحياة المعاصرة.
وبالفعل فقد استخدمت تقنيات تعليمية متنوعة لهذا الغرض في بلدان العالم المتقدمة مستخدمة الدروس العلمية والرياضيات أساساً لتنمية التفكير الإبتكاري.
بيد ان توقع الباحث لوجود علاقة وثيقة بين ممارسة النشاط الفني ونمو التفكير الإبتكاري، دفع به إلى محاولة إثبات هذه الفرضية بأن صمم برنامجنا تعليمياً في التربية الفنية لتنمية التفكير الإبتكاري لدى طلبة دراسة الإعدادية، وبالنظر إلى عناصر التفكير الإبتكاري الرئيسية المتمثلة بالمرونة، والطلاقة، والأصالة، فقد عولج هدف البحث الرئيسي بأربع فرضيات صفرية هي: 1-لا أثر للبرنامج التعليمي في تنمية المرونة لدى الطلبة الخاضعين للتجربة، 2-لا أثر للبرنامج التعليمي في تنمية الطلاقة لدى الطلبة الخاضعين للتجربة، 3-لا أثر للبرنامج التعليمي في تنمية الأصالة لدى الطلبة الخاضعين للتجربة، 4-لا أثر للبرنامج التعليمي في تنمية التفكير الإبتكاري لدى الطلبة الخاضعين للتجربة.
ولتحقيق هدف البحث قام الباحث بتصميم البرنامج التعليمي مستعيناً بأساس نظري شمل ثلاثة حقول علمية هي: (علم نفس التربوي) و(التربية الفنية) و(التقنيات التربوية).
