والرواية تنقسم إلى قسمين: في القسم الأول، نرى مواقف الاتجاه السلفي من كل ما أفرزته الأمة من تيارات ومدارس وتوجهات صوفية وكلامية وعلمية وغيرها. والقسم الثاني، نرى البديل الذي يضعه الاتجاه السلفي لتلك التيارات، أو الصورة التي يريد أن يصور بها هذا الدين.
