"لم يزل نعناعه أخضر، أعواد من البابونج اليابس، يانسون على الرقّ، أوان بعد لم تزبل، على الجدران خيل لا تمل الركض، أبناء بعيدون، بقايا في نهار في يد الفوضى بقايا زفرة الملتاع في الإيقاع، غيم حابل بالزرع، يصحو في رسومات الأباريق، ويصحو صاحبي، لا خمرُهُ خمر، ولا سروٌ يحيط القلب، تعلو بحة المزمار تعلو وأريحا تملأ الحضرة، من يعزف في البيت أريحا! هذه الريح من الروح، وهذا اليوم شباك على فخاره المكسور، تعلو بحة المزمار تعلو، السور بعد السور يعلو وأريحا في أريحا".
عقد الاشتياق والحنين يضحي الشعر مساحة للبوح، للبكاء للهمس أو للصراخ، وتضحي الكلمات شلالاً هادراً، أحياناً، وأحاييناً موجات متدافعة بين جزر ومد، الأحاسيس والمشاعر، كلمات وعبارات هي حبات قلب اغترب جسده ولم تغترب روحه، هكذا يمضي محمد القيسي ليرى وجهه في مرآة وطنه المغيب عنه.
