لقد أنزل الله تعالى القرآن الكريم على عبده محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم, وجعله سبحانه وتعالى كتاب هداية وإرشاد وتعليم وبيان, يدل الناس على الحق ويأمرهم باتباعه, ويهديهم الى الصراط المستقيم, صراط الذين أنعم الله عليهم من النبيين والصديقين والشهداء والصالحين, ونعم الطريق طريقهم. ولقد أمر الحق تبارك وتعالى- عباده بترتيل القرآن, وتدبره, والتفكر فيه, وأخذ العبر والفوائد منه, وذلك حتى تستقيم حياتهم على وفق شرع الله. وقد اشتمل القرآن الكريم على كثير من الموضوعات, وأحدها القصص القرآني, حيث قص الله تعالى علينا في كتابه كثيراً من القصص, كقصة آدم, وقصص الأنبياء مع أقوامهم, وغيرها الكثير. وليس الهدف من إيراد هذه القصص مجرد التسلية, ولكنه الاعتبار وأخذ الدروس والفوائد منها (لقد كان في قصصهم عبرة لأولي الألباب) ومما قصه الله تعالى علينا ما وعظ به لقمان ابنه. وهي موعظة بليغة مؤثرة, وفيها الكثير من الدروس والعبر. ولأهميتها البليغة تم كتابة هذا الكتاب حول نصائح لقمان لأبنه.
