الغرض من جمع حروف هذا الكتاب، وتأليف كلماته، وسرد أفكاره، والتبحُر في تدبر الأقوال، هو الإمتثال لتوجيه الخالق العليم الحكيم في قوله تعالى: "وَفِي الْأَرْضِ آَيَاتٌ لِلْمُوقِنِينَ * وَفِي أَنْفُسِكُمْ أَفَلَا تُبْصِرُونَ"، و قول الرسول الكريم، المصطفى الأمين عليه أفضل الصلاة وأتم التسليم: "من سلك طريقاً يلتمس فيه علماً سهل الله له به طريقاً إلى الجنة". أخرجه مسلم. ليس العقل ما يميز البشر عن بقية المخلوقات، بل كيفية استخدامه له هو ذلك التميز الايجابي كم من عقول زادت من اصحابها رفعة، وكم منها على النقيض من ذلك، فالأولى علمت ما هو المطلوب واتبعت فطرتها وزانت كرامتها، وكانت سببا لتكليفه وتشريفه.
