تتناول مادة الكتاب حركة الإخوان المسلمين وإن كان مجمل الأفكار هو قاسماً مشتركاً عند جميع الحركات الإسلامية بسبب الاستدعاءات التراثية والتصوّرات الكبرى التي يحملها مجمل التيار الإسلامي، والهدف منها هو تعريف المهتمين بمنظومات الأفكار الكبرى المنتشرة التي ربما لم تتح لهم الفرصة للنظر إليها بطريق منظّمة، تسمح بإيجاد الروابط بين أجزائها وإنتاج عصر جديد هو ابن مراجعة الفكر القديم، وتصويب ما يحتاج إلى التصويب فيه.
