في التاريخ الإسلامي رجال صدقوا ما عاهدوا الله عليه. وفي هذا الكتاب قبسات مضيئة من تاريخ الأوائل شهداء العقيدة الإسلامية الذين دافعوا عن الدين الجديد، فمنهم من آمن وهاجر وقاتل وقتل. من هذا المنطلق جهد الكاتب الأستاذ "محمد علي يوسف الأشيقر" على تقديم سيرة وحياة ستة من الأوائل الذين آمنوا بالإسلام وبذلوا أرواحهم في سبيله، سوف نشهد صفحات من تاريخ مضى، ولكنه فخر لكل مسلم وبه يقتدي، نقله إلينا "الأشيقر" بأمانة وبروح الباحث عن الحقيقة والحكمة التي هي ضالة كل مؤمن. وللإحاطة بسيرة الأوائل يقسم الباحث كتابه إلى ستة أجزاء: في الجزء الأول: إضاءة على سيرة وحياة "حمزة بن المطلب"، وفي الجزء الثاني يضيء على "جعفر الطيار"، أما في الجزء الثالث فنتعرف على "سلمان الفارسي"، وفي الجزء الرابع "أبو ذر الغفاري"، ويخصص الجزء الخامس في "بلاد الحبشي"، أما الجزء السادس والأخير فيأتي للإضاءة على "مالك الأشتر النخعي".
هذا الكتاب هو أكثر من سيرة شخصية لهؤلاء الأوائل، بل هو الماضي الاسلامي المشرق لكل زخمه ماثلاً أمامنا، لقد رافق هؤلاء رسول الله في غزواته وفي تبشيره بالإسلام فتحملوا الصعاب ورخصت الأرواح في سبيل الله وسنة رسوله صلى الله عليه وسلم. سنتعرف فيه على تفاصيل التفاصيل، وفي كل محطة، وعند كل منعطف كيف يتعامل المؤمن بقناعة وبحزم وبعيداً عن كل مصلحة، فقط إيمانه بالإسلام هو ما يحركه فجدير بكل مسلم أن يتخذ من هؤلاء مثلاً أعلى...
