الكتاب الذي بين أيدينا جمع بين الحصائل المعرفية والمنهجية، بعد أن أعمل فيها منهجه تحليلاً وتحقيقاً في قضية الوحي والملائكة، فناقش ونقد أطروحات العقل التسليمي من داخل دائرته الروائية المتعلقة بروايات الوحي والملائكة، كما ناقش وحلل رؤية المنهج المادي لهذه القضية، فيقوم بذلك بغربلة ومراجعة الموروث المعرفي الروائي، مبيناً ما له علاقة بالفكر التقليدي أو الأسطوري أو الخرافي، متصلاً بذلك بما سطره في الحلقة الأولى من أقانيم اللامعقول: قراءة نقدية في التقليد والأسطورة والخرافة.
ولم يقف الكتاب عند حدود نقد المنهجين المادي والتسليمي، وإنما تجاوز ذلك إلى استعمال منهج دلالات الوحي ذاته، قدّم نقده لذينك المنهحين، فهو يقدم رؤية من منطلق حرية تعدد الآراء وحرية تحليلها ونقدها، لأنّ زكاة المعرفة لديه التحليل والنقد، وبداية التحليل التفكير والتعليل، وبداية النقد الشك والتفكيك، والشك في المسلمات المعرفية ليست جهلاً، بل أمر حتمي لضرورة التطوّر الإنساني على الصعيدين، الذاتي والكوني، وبذلك يستطيع الإنسان أن يحقق الاستخلاف على الأرض.
