يسعى هذا الكتاب لذكر بعض المسائل المتعلقة بموضوع الأمومة، سواءً أكانت مسائل فقهية، أو تربوية، فتحدث عن المقصود من الزواج: التعفف عن الحرام، الرغبة في الأولاد، إقامة البيت المسلم، من ثم توقف عند الحمل والولادة فذكر بعض الآيات والأحاديث المتعلقة بالحمل والولادة، من ثم ألقى الضوء على الأحكام الفقهية المتعلقة بالحامل والنفساء، وبين مخاطر منع الحمل والإجهاض وفوائد الرضاعة وتوابعها.
وفي باب "المراحل التي يمر بها الطفل بعد فترة الرضاعة" توقف الكتاب عند مرحلة تربية الطفل وهي مرحلة الحضانة ومرحلة الصبا، ومرحلة الشباب وهذه الأخيرة هي مرحلة يتحول فيها الإنسان من طفل صغير إلى رجل رشيد أو أم حنونة، ويتحقق بعد ذلك مضمون الرسالة وتصير المولودة أماً، وهذه سنة الله في كونه.
