الحلم سر اليقظة، لأنه حديث النفس، ويكون بين عالمين: عالم الرؤى والخيال، وعالم اليقظة والواقع. لن نصل لتصدر مقبول عن سر الأحلام إلا إذا قمنا بإطلالة على تاريخ الحلم البشري، مطلعين من ثم على نماذج من القرآن الكريم وآراء العلماء. هذا ما صرحت عليه المؤلفة في مسيرة بحثها لاكتشاف أسرار الرؤى والأحلام في هذا الكتاب، حيث أكدت أثر الأحلام في مسيرة الإنسان منذ بدء الخليقة التي ابتدأت مع آدم عليه السلام، ومن ثم الأنبياء والصالحين ومشاهير العالم القديم، مستعرضة بعض آراء العلماء قديماً وحديثاً، مقسمة الأحلام إلى نوعين من حيث قصتها على استقبال المعارف الجديدة، وهي أحلام النوم وأحلام اليقظة... فالاتصال بعالم الغيب والإمداد الإلهي من الأفكار يكون عن طريق النوم، أو في حالة اليقظة، لذا تعرضت المؤلفة لحالة التنبؤ التي تحدث للإنسان، والفراسة والمكاشفة، والإلهام، والخواطر، وعلاقة هذه الأمور بالروح والخيال والحاجة للخلوة ليتم التلقي. مشيرة من ثم إلى تأثير باطن الإنسان المملوء بالأسرار والذي ينعكس على أحلامه. وذلك بهدف الوصول إلى تصور صحيح عما يحدث للإنسان من أمور غريبة. ذاكرة بعضاً من أحلامها التي شغلتها، ومن أجلها كان بحثها عن الحقيقة ولإفادة غير في آن معاً.
