من الممكن القول إنه لا يكاد يخلو بحث علمي من إستخدام الإحصاء، وفي العلوم التربوية زاد إستخدام الإحصاء في الآونة الأخيرة بل إنه لا يكاد يجد الباحث التربوي أي مجلة أجنبية لنشر بحثه ما لم يقوم بإستخدام تقنيات إحصائية متقدمة.
يستعرض هذا الكتاب أهم الموضوعات الإحصائية التي يحتاجها الباحث في العلوم التربوية، تكون الكتاب من تسعة فصول، تناول الفصل الأول مدخل إلى الإحصاء التربوي، وتضمن الفصل الثاني مفاهيم أساسية في الإحصاء التربوي، أما الفصل الثالث فقد تضمن الإحصاء الوصفي في حين تضمن الفصل الرابع الإحصاء البارامتري، الفصل الخامس تناول الإحصاء اللابارامتري والفصل السادس تضمن الإرتباط والإنحدار.
أما في الفصل السابع فقط تم تناول أهم موضوعات الإحصاء المتقدم وهي تحليل التغاير وتحليل القياس المتكرر ثم التحليل العاملي واشتمل الفصل الثامن على صدق وثبات أدوات القياس وأخيراً تم تقديم اختباراً للكفايات الإحصائية في الفصل التاسع باللغتين العربية والإنجليزية.
حاول المؤلف عرض كل أسلوب إحصائي بطريقة مبسطة وواقعية تتشابه مع المشاكل الإحصائية في رسائل الماجستير والدكتوراه، كما تم عرض مثال تجريبي تطبيقي لكل أسلوب إحصائي وتطبيق خطوات تحليله في برنامج اس بي اس اس SPSS مع الصور.
