كما حاولنا أيضاً إبراز المكانة التي تحتلها منطقة الشرق الأوسط في محددات السياسة الخارجية الروسية، وكانت المكانة الإقتصادية هي المحدد الأبرز لعودة روسيا لهذه المنطقة، دون إهمال دوافع سياسة روسيا الخارجية تجاه الأزمة التي تمر بها سوريا لنتوصل إلى أن الدافع الجيوستراتيجي هو أساس ثبات الدعم الروسي لسوريا، وإن مكانة روسيا مرتبطة بمستقبل الأزمة في سوريا.
حقيقة العودة الروسية لمنطقة الشرق الاوسط ودعمها المستمر لسوريا رغم الأوضاع التي تمر بها، يكمن في سعي روسيا للتصدي للتحرك الغربي لمحاصرتها وإضعافها، وتحقيق طموحها بان تصبح قوة مؤثرة في الساحة الدولية.
