من المسلمين رجال أحبوا الله فأحبهم ووفقهم إلى فعل ما يحبه ويرضاه، فانتدبوا أنفسهم لخدمة الدين والقيم والدعوة إلى الله على بصيرة وعلم يحببون الناس في دين الله ويذودون عنه بأقلامهم وألسنتهم بالموعظة الحسنة والحكمة امتثالاً لقوله تعالى "ادع إلى سبيل ربك بالحكمة والموعظة الحسنة وجادلهم بالتي هي أحسن". وأحد هؤلاء الدعاة الأعلام الذين برزوا في ميدان الدعوة الشيخ العلامة السيد أحمد مشهور بن طه بن علي الحداد.
وقد انصب جهد المؤلف على ناحيتين الأولى معرفة الخاص بالشيخ الحداد، والعلاقة التي تربط والده بالشيخ، أما الناحية الثانية فهي دراسة لحياة الشيخ "أحمد مشهور الحداد" قام بإعدادها نجله وتلميذه السيد "حامد بن أحمد" حيث بين الجوانب المهمة من حياة والده كما يتحدث المؤلف عن مقومات العمل الدعوة ومميزات الداعية الناجح من حيث الاهتمام بالعلم والعمل بمقتضاه والتعاون مع من يعمل في مجال الدعوة والاستغناء عن الناس والاتكال على الله.
صفحات مضيئة من حياة داعية.. كتاب نفيس وقيم، وتعود نفاسته وقيمته العلمية إلى ناحيتين:
الأولى: احتوائه لترجمة حياة إمام رباني جليل، وداعية إسلامي كان له القدح المعلى في الدعوة إلى الله تعالى، رجل قضى حياته كلها ما بين العلم والدعوة إلى الله، مدة تزيد على الستين عاماً، كابد فيها الأهوال، وقاسى المتاعب والصعوبات، فصبر وجاهد.. حتى أتاه اليقين وهو على ذلك.
الثانية: أن الذي ألف هذا الكتاب وجمع هذه السيرة المباركة هو أحد أبنائه، كاتب وشاعر وأديب، له عدد من المؤلفات النافعة, وقد كتب هذا الكتاب بنفس عال، وبإنصاف بالغ، إذ يقول المؤلف عن نفسه وعن كتابه في (المقدمة): "... وحين يجد الدارس نفسه أمام شخصية لأقرب الناس إليه، وأعزهم وأعظمهم منزلة عنده.. فعليه أولاً أن يكون صادقاً مع نفسه، أميناً فيما ينقله للناس وللتاريخ عن ذلك الإنسان، بحيث لا يدع لعواطف الأبوة والنبوة أو القرابة أو الرحم والصلة إلى نفسه سبيلا"، منهج واضح رسمه المؤلف لنفسه في هذا الكتاب.
فإلى الموسوعة التاريخية الأدبية الدعوية الاجتماعية لحياة السيد الجليل الحبيب أحمد مشهور الحداد رحمه الله، وإلى الصفحات المضيئة من حياته.. وليس الخبر كالمعاينة.
