إنطلاقاً من هذا التعريف يخوض المؤلف معركة التطور ويتفحص براديمات أكثر تطوراً في مجال العمل وغيره من الميادين ويناقشها خطوة خطوة يقول المؤلف: "لقد حاولت من خلال هذا الكتاب أن أعرف قوة البراديمات ومدى تأثيرها، وأشرح وأفسر سبب تمسكنا بالبراديمات القديمة، وأقترح بعض الحلول حتى تكون أكثر انفتاحاً على تلك الجديدة. لقد ذكرت أننا خلال الأزمات نحتاج إلى البحث بشكل مكثف جداً عن المستقبل وكيفية توقعه".
وفي هذا الإطار يدعو المؤلف كل منا إلى تفحص براديماته الحالية في مجال (العمل، الحياة العائلية، الأخلاق، السياسة، والدين، والمعتقدات والقوانين) ثم السؤال (ما الشروط التي تجعلك تعدل براديمك؟) وبالتأكيد سوف تأتي إجابات كل منا مختلفة، ولكننا يمكن عن طريقها (التعامل بفاعلية وفعالية أكثر مع الحياة أكثر مرونة وخاصة أثناء الأوقات الصعبة.
