لقد أولت الماركسية حروب العصابات وحروب التحرير اهتماماً خاصاً انطلاقاً من فهمها للظواهر والتناقضات الاجتماعية والاقتصادية ومن خلال بحثها عن أساليب تجنيد الطاقات الثورية في المجتمع لتحقيق أهداف الطبقات المضطهدة. ويتضح من الوقائع التاريخية المثبتة في هذا الكتاب الذي هو من إعداد مجموعة من المفكرين الماركسين أمثال لينين، وكارل ماركس، وفردريك أنجلو ولين بياو، تشي غيفارا أن الحركات التاريخية تبحث عن إمكانيات وسبل العمل في ظل أصعب الظروف، الأمر الذي يشكل حكماً قاسياً على جميع الحركات "الثورية" ولاسيما الحركات التي تخلفت عن خوض الكفاح المسلح في سبيل تحرير الأرض العربية التي احتلت عنوة واغتصابا.
إن الانفتاح على الظواهر والتجارب الكفاحية العالمية يشكل ظاهرة ثورية صحية نظراً لفائدة الانفتاح على الصعيدين النظري والعملي ونظراً لما يمثله هذا الانفتاح من إدراك لوحدة قضية الشعوب المضطهدة ضد الاحتلال والتمييز والاستغلال الاستعماري.
