مسلم بن عقيل يتوسط الناي في باحة من باحات الكوفة ويخطب منهم أو يتجول وحده على أبواب البيوت المغلقة ويتحدث والأبواب تتفتح تباعاً. مسلم: يا أهل الله، الظلم طريق مهده الظالم للكفر وسوى ملكته من إذعان المظلوم. لو أذعنا للظلم، لجعلنا من ظهر قفانا موطئ حاجتنا، وبهذا نسلس مقودنا برضانا، ونوطئ أنفسنا لهوانا، فلا نقرأ ورد الروح، أو نسمع أنات الشرف المجروح، أزفت ساعة الإنتظار، وابتدأ وجع الأرض مما تلبد فيها، وشب على نفسه، اخرجوا الآن من جنة الانزواء، فقد كبرت وردة الفجر، وتواصل صوت الآذان بأنساقها فهي تدخل حلم التلاوين تتشرب بالعطر عبر المسارات ثم تفتح باب الهوى للنهار، أزفت ساعة الانتظار".
الإشارة الأولى مسرحية تاريخية من فصل واحد فاز نصبها بالمركز الثاني في جائزة الشارقة للإبداع العربي، وهذه الجائزة هي إحدى الجوائز العربية المتميزة في رعايتها للإبداع والموهوبين حيث تنفرد ليس بالتوجه لتشجيعهم فحسب ولكن أيضاً لإصدار عملهم الأول، وأيضاً لفتح آفاق أخرى فثراء تجربتهم.
