الجديدُ في هذه الدراسةِ هو، أولاً: إنَّ البطلَ الحقيقي للملحمةِ لم يكنْ كلكامشُ بل إنكيدو؛ إذ إنَّ حدَثَ موتِ إنكيدو يُعَدُّ المحرّكَ الاساسي في تبلور أحداثِ الملحمة، لا بل إنَّ موتَه يُعَدّ المادةَ التي تُبنى عليها الأحداثُ الدراميةُ، فلولا موتُ إنكيدو لما انكشفَ الوجهُ الآخر لكلكامشَ في سعيِه وبحثِه عن الخلود. ولولا إنكيدو لمَا أدركَ كلكامشُ قيمةَ الحياة وتعلقَه بها. ثانيًا:إنَّ إنسانَ كلكامشَ لم يُعنَ بالموتِ كما هو شائعٌ في مُعظم الدراسات والأبحاث، بل عُني بالحياة، وإذا كان شغلُه الشاغلُ هو مُعضلة الموت، وأهتم بأمره كثيرًا لأنه كان معنيًا بالحياة حدَّ الغرام. فخشيَ أنْ تضيعَ منه، فعمل المُستحيلَ من أجلِ الحفاظ عليها، لذا الملحمةُ لا تحتفي بالموتِ بل بالحياةِ والخلود. ثالثًا: إنَّ كلكامشَ إبنَ الرافدين، تعمّق لديه مفهومُ الإنسان وبرزتْ أهميةُ الآخر من خلال محنةِ موت الصديق. رابعًا: اكتشفَ كلكامش خلال تغرّبه قيمةَ الأرض وأهميةَ الوطنِ في مرافئ الغُربة، فقرّر أن يكونَ خالدًا في ذاكرةِ شعبِه، متّخِذًا من أوروك موطنًا لخلودِه.
