عمل يحكي مراحل حياة فتاة إماراتية اسمها (أمل)، عاشت في أحضان أسرة محافِظة، لها أحكام وضوابط كثيرة، تجعل مِن حياتها مليئة بالمتاهات والصعاب .
بدأت مصاعبها بفقْد أمها في عُمْرٍ مبكرٍ جدًّا، وزواج أبيها مِن أجنبية، وخسارتها لصديقة عمرها (منال) التي اتَّكأتْ عليها أيامًا لتتخطى معها مزالق الحياة الكثيرة، إلى أن تعرفتْ على (خالد)، وتزوجتْ به.
يصوِّر لنا العمل بأسلوبٍ قصصيٍ مراحل حياتها المدرسية إلى ما بعد تخرجها في الجامعة، ثم زواجها.
ويسلط الضوء على ما تتخلله مِن أحداث ترسم شخصيتها المتفائلة بالحياة، والمفعمة بالأمل، مُرتكزًا على تربية والديها، وضوابط البيئة التي عاشت في كنفها.
وعلى الرغم مِن انخراطها بعد التخرج في الجامعة في عالم التواصل الاجتماعي بدافع الفراغ والملل الذي عاشته، إلا أنها لم تنجرف كغيرها مِن الشباب إلى ذلك العالم الغامض وأهواله.
مِن جانب آخر تصور لنا الرواية البيت الإماراتي المُشبع بالألفة والتعاون، المتمسك بالعادات والتقاليد، على الرغم مِن التطور الحاصل، وتباعد الأُسَر بعد زواج أبنائه.
بالإضافة إلى أهمية الوطن، والدفاع عنه في ظل التحدِّيات الجديدة، والمخاطر المتلاحقة، وعرْض نموذج يحكي دور الشهداء، وتضحياتهم، وبذْلهم أرواحهم في سبيل الوطن .
