يا لخبث الفلاسفة!... لم أعرف قط عبارة أكثر لذعاً من تلك التي أطلقها أبيقور على أفلاطون والأفلاطونيين عندما سماهم بــ : ديونيسوكولاكس.
وتعني حسب ظاهر لفظها "متملّقو ديونيسيوس"، أي زبانية الطاغية، ومتزلّفون له.
غير أنه يعني بذلك أيضاً أنهم "كلهم ممثلون، وما من شيء جديّ فيهم" (إذ عبارة "ديونيسوكولاكس" Dionysokolax كانت تسمية شعبية تطلق على الممثل).
وهذا المعنى الأخير هو الفحوى الحقيقية للسهم الشرير الذي أطلقه أبيقور على أفلاطون: كانت تسيؤه هيأة العظمة، وبراعة إستعراض الذات التي كان يتقنها أفلاطون وتلامذته، الأمر الذي لم يحذقه أبيقور معلّم ساموس العجوز الذي كان يجلس متخفياً داخل حديقته الصغيرة بالقرب من أثينا ليحرر ثلاثمائة كتاب.
من يدري، ربما فعل ذلك عن غيض وتكبّر على أفلاطون؟ - وكان لا بد من ألف سنة كي تكتشف اليونان أخيراً من كان حقاً أبيقور، ذلك الإله المختفي في حديقته، - لكن، هل اكتشفت ذلك حقّاً؟...
