قد شغل موضوع اللون مختلف الدراسات، العربية وغير العربية، العلمية والأدبية، على حد سواء، إذ وجد فيه الباحثون مجالاً رحباً يمكن أن يستثمروا من خلاله طاقات خلاقة، تُفسَر قيمة اللون في التعبير، عن طبيعة العمل الإبداعي، وتُبرز خصوصيته وتفرّده، سواءُ أكان ذلك الدراسات العلمية القائمة على أساس تحليل ماهية اللون، وكيفية الإحساس به وبنواحيه المختلفة، التي تأخذ الجانب الطبيعي والنفسي والكيميائي، أم في تلك الدراسات الإنسانية التي تستنطق قدرة اللون في التعبير عن إمكانيات فذة، وتصويرها بالإعتماد على الخصائص اللونية الفارقة بين عملٍ وآخر.
تتجلى فاعلية اللون في الشعر العربي على نحوٍ مميزٍ، ذلك لإرتباطها بالعواطف والمشاعر الإنسانية، التي يعيها الشاعر، فيمنحها بُعداً يتجاوز به أفق الدلالة المعهودة.
إن إدراك الشعراء لمكانة اللون في نسيج النص الشعري، يستدعي الوقوف على إمكانياتهم في توظيف هذا العنصر المهم، بوصفه مرتكزاً رئيساً في المعجم الشعري الذي يتميّز به شاعر عن آخر، وهو طاقة فنية لا يمكن إغفالها، فلا يقتصر على الوظيفة الجمالية فحسب، بل إن حضوره يهدف إلى إثراء التجربة الشعرية يفيض الخيالات المشحونة، وبالرموز والدلالات العميقة التي تستتر تحت الألوان.
من هذا المنطلق، كان اختيار موضوع البحث (اللون ودلالته لموضوعية والفينة في الشعر الأندلسي من عصر المرابطين حتى نهاية الحكم العربي)، إذ إن غنى الأندلس بمظاهر الطبيعة بشتى أصنافها، كان سبباً في تميّز الشعر الأندلسي بتوظيف اللون، يعزز ذلك إستثمار الشعراء لأحاسيسهم ورؤاهم، فبرزت القيم الجمالية المقترنة بخصوصيتهم الإبداعية في التعامل مع اللون.
