Après avoir cité les différents sédatifs utillisés: la diversion dans le travail, les satisfactions substitutives de l’art et des illusions religieuses et amoureuses, les stupéfiants enfin, il mentionnait en dernier recours la fuite dans la maladie nerveuse, névrose ou psychose.
Il ne considérait pas la maladie somatique dans ses rapports avec les impératifs de la civilisation et les sédatifs qu’il citait.
Faute de temps, peut-être, il nous a laissé cette voie d’etude”.
Pierre Marty, fondateur de l’institut de Psychosomatique, expose das cet ouvrage l’histoire et les théories de la psychosomatique ainsi que les apports des méthodes psychothérapiques pour les malades.
