"أسفاً .. أموت" عنوان شعري لا يخلو من دلالة على الإرسال والتوجيه لمتلق من نوع خاص، بحيث يكون الشعر مشتركاً بين من يقوله ويقرأه. فالشاعر عوض العمري يضعنا أمام مشهد واضح المعالم، لشاعر يشعر بحرقة وغربة. يعزف بأوتار الشعر على الورق وكأنه يحاول الهروب من ذاك الجرح المرّ، لكنه رغم الشدو حزين، ولذا فطعمه مرّ، وسبب تلك المرارة جرح يبدو وكأنه لم يندمل بعد في قصيدته الموسومة بـ "أسفاً أموت" يقول: " ... شيئاً .. تأكلُ الأواءُ من / جسدي .. وتنهشُ في الأديم الأغبر / يا أنت .. ما كانت حكاية جرحنا / من محضِ أفكاري، وفضل تخيري / كلا .. ولا كانت مجازر مشاعرٍ / عصفت بذهن معذبٍ متطير ...". وبهذا المعنى نحن أمام شاعر مترف الشعور وحَفياً بالشعر المعذب الرقيق المعكوس في اللاشعور. فالقول الشعري عند الشاعر العمري تبرز فيه تفلسف الأنا في إرساليات ملفوظاتها النثرية الصورية الحسية التي تتجاوز القول إلى الفعل الذي يقوم على استنهاض قيم الرمز والمرموز في حدود الدال للقيمة الشعرية على مرجعياتها التاريخية وجماليات بنية المكان في الدال اللساني والمكاني المتمثل بموطن الشاعر. من هنا جاءت قصيدته (عبق) التي يهديها إلى قريته (الفرعة) الغافية .. الساهرة .. في أحضان جبل "المطلا" يقول فيها:
"مدي يديك فإن قيدي موثقُ / وبكاء جرحي في الظلام مشققُ ، وأنا الغريب يتيمُ قلبٍ لم أزل / أقتات دمعي للرحيل وأشرق ، منذ افترقنا عشت في حدق الدُجى / يغفو على جسدي الحصار ويشرق ..." .
يضم الديوان قصائد متنوعة الثيمات والأغراض الشعرية توزعت على بحور الشعر الموزون والمقفى والشعر العامودي وجاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: " حكيم قوي" ، "عبق" ، "أخي" ، "وريف اللظى" ، "أسفاً أموت!!" ، "أصل نجواي" ، "مسافر" ، (...) وعناوين أخرى.
