فصلان في حياة السيد الشهيد محمد باقر الصدر، يلخصانها ويرسمان للمريدين وسائر المؤمنين، وأكاد أقول سائر الناس، معالم الحياة التي أرادها سبحانه وتعالى لهم، وهم خلقه المكرمون فأما الفصل الأول فهو سيرة الشهيد في وسط الأمة، وهي سيرة انبنت على الوعي واتسمت به. سيرة استلهمت دور الأمة كلل ودورها كأفراد وجماعات ومؤسسات، كما استلهمت قيمة الحضور في مواقع الولاء للأمة والتفاعل الحي مع همومها وآلامها وآمالها. واستحضار قيمها وتراثها وحمل هويتها الرسالية الإنسانية.
وأما الفصل الثاني فهو موقفه من السلطة التي نابذته العداء شخصاً وفكراً وآلت على نفسها أن تمزق شبكة الولاءات التي يؤمن بها وأن تبطل آثارها. والمشاهدات التي ترويها المذكرات التي يشتمل عليها هذا الكتاب إنما هي لمحات تسجيلية من حياة السيد الشهيد، تطلبت عرضها على الملأ أمانة في عنق تلاميذ السيد الشهيد ومريديه والذين عايشوه فترة ما من الزمن فاطلعوا من قريب على سيرته العملية ونظراته التي انتهى إليها وكرس حياته في سبيل الانسجام معها.
