الدراسات التي صدرت حتى الآن عن سيد قطب وآثاره قليلة لا توازي مكانة الرجل ولا تتعرض لكل جوانب شخصية، غير أن هذا لا يعني أنه لم يحظ بعد موته بالتقدير الذي يستحقه، إذ انبرى بعض تلاميذه إلى جمع بعض آثاره وهي كثيرة فترجموا له وأبرزوا بعض ملامح العبقرية التي ميزت أعماله ومؤلفاته والتي عدت دليلاً على غزارة علمه وخصب عقله.
والكتاب الذي نحن بصدده، دراسة حول نظرية التصوير الفني عند سيد قطب، وهو الجزء الثاني من رسالة يبين فيها المؤلف نظرية سيد قطب التي جاءت متكاملة حتى عد من جاء بعده عيالاً عليه. في هذا الموضوع. تتميز الدراسة بشمولها يبحث الكتاب في الجانب الجمالي البياني، ويعرف بالمفتاح الجمالي الذي استخرج منه سيد قطب كنوز القرآن الجمالية المكنوزة فيه.
كما أن المؤلف يتلافى خطأ طالما وقع فيه الباحثون وهو إغفالهم لمرحلة طويلة من حياة سيد قطب تغطي مدة خمسة وأربعين عاماً حافلة بالأحداث قبل أن ينضم إلى حركة الإخوان المسلمين. وتكمن أهمية النظرية التي قدمها سيد قطب إلى أنه سجل فيها القواعد العامة للجمال الفني المعجز في القرآن الكرمي والسمات الموحدة له.
يقع الكتاب في خمسة فصول، يبين الكاتب المراحل التي قطعها التذوق الأدبي للجمال الفتي الذي يحسه قارئ القرآن كما يورد نماذج من الأبيات التصويرية في الشعر الجاهلي والشعر الإسلامي كما يورد نماذج من الأبيات التصويرية في الشعر الجاهلي، والشعر الإسلامي، كما يقدم دراسة هن موهبة سيد قطب التصويرية، ثم يخصص فصلاً للتعريف بالمصطلحات الفنية الخاصة التي استعملها في دراسته.
