مادة الكتاب مساعدة لطلبة المرحلة الثانوية بشكل عام وطلبة كليات المجتمع بشكل خاص آملين أن نكون قد عوضنا بعض النقص في مراجع هذه المادة في المكتبة العربية.
يشتمل هذا الكتاب على وحدتين: تتضمن الوحدة الأولى على الزمرة وبعض أنواعها مثل الزمرة الدورية وزمر التباديل وعلى بعض النظريات المتعلقة بالزمرة مثل نظرية لانجرانج، كذلك تشتمل الوحدة الأولى على بعض الإقترانات المرتبطة بالزمر مثل الإقترانات الحافظة للعمليات (التشابه في الشكل) والإقترانات التآصيلة (التشاكلية)... وبعض النظريات المتعلقة بهذه الأنواع من الإقترانات مثل النظرية الأساسية للإقترانات الحافظة للعمليات.
وتشتمل الوحدة الثانية على الحلقة وخواصها وعلى بعض أنواع الحلقات مثل المجال الصحيح والمثاليات وأنواعها، وقد أنهينا هذه الوحدة بالحقل وبعض النظريات عليه.
هذا وإننا ندعو زملاءنا المعلمين لمساعدتنا في طرح آرائهم وإنتقاداتهم البناءة حول هذا الكتاب وما يحويه من مفاهيم وحقائق ونظريات، وإننا على إستعداد لتقبل إنتقاداتهم لتطوير هذا الكتاب لما فيه من مصلحة علمية.
