وقد تم انتقاء مجموعة من هذه الكتب لنشرها في سلسلة تاريخية، لتكون رافداً ثقافياً لأبناء هذا الجيل، ومن هذه الكتب كتاب (أربعون عاماً في البرية)، الذي قدم مؤلفه إلى الجزيرة العربية نصرانياً فخرج منها مسلماً باسم الحاج عبد الله يعود بذاكرته ليسترجع الأيام الخوالي التي قضاها بين العرب في أحضان الدولة السعودية وبرفقة ملكها الراحل عبد العزيز آل سعود فيسطر في هذا الكتاب بعضاً من ذكرياته خلال تلك الأربعين سنة المنصرمة، كيف دخل المملكة وكيف تعرف على الملك، كما يروي أحداث فتح مكة وجدة، ويتحدث عن الأيام الجميلة التي قضاها في الرياض والطائف ومكة المكرمة، والرحلات التي تنقل من خلالها بين فيافي الصحراء في الربع الخالي وجنوب وشمال المملكة وشرقها وغربها.
إنه كتاب تاريخ وأحداث تقدمه مكتبة العبيكان لروادها ومتابعي إصداراتها مترجماً إلى اللغة العربية ولأول مرة، لعله يلبي رغبتهم فيتعرفوا على بعض أحداث الجزيرة العربية التي جرت في بداية ووسط القرن الماضي.
