هذا الكتاب مختارات شعرية لشعراء فرنسيين من القرن العشرين جمعهم "جاك شارنبترو" تحت عنوان "أنطولوجيا الشعر الفرنسي للقرن العشرين" ترجم لها نور الدين الدامون.
قدّم للمجموعة تحت عنوان "شعر حاضر" الشاعر الفرنسي جاك شارنبترو، كشف من خلالها دلالات إقدامه على هذه المغامرة الشعرية الجماعية، ولعل أجمل ما فيها في رؤيته لوظيفة العمل الأنطولوجي خاصة، والشعر برمته، بقوله: الشعر لذة. فهو يضع أمامك مشاكل، بل يمحك كل الحلول، يرفض إعطاء تعريفات، ذلك أنه يجسّد الحقيقة، يجري من النبع، وتتبع مجراه الحياة ...". أما عن قول البعض أن الشعر غامض فيعلق قائلاً: "يدّعي البعض أنه غامض. ربما. غامض مثل الليل، وجميل أيضاً مثله، عندما ينبض القلب بنفس إيقاع النبض الكوني للنجوم لذة الليل الذي يقودنا دائماً إلى الفجر (...) ويختتم مقدمته بنداء إلى "القراء الشباب، هما القوة الأخوية، وعليه يمكن القول أن الشعر هو الربيع الخالد للعالم. أتمنى أن تجدوا في شعر القرن العشرين لذتكم، لذة القراءة والسفر مع تجلياته العظيمة". وفيما يخص الجانب المتعلق بالترجمة، فقد أمعن المترجم في تأويل المعاني والدلالات والصور ووجد للشعر الفرنسي معادلاته المناسبة في اللغة المنقول إليها والمترجم عنها، وخاصة أن الشعر الفرنسي يمتد بجذوره الراسخة إلى عقود طويلة تجلى فيها الإبداع الشعري برموزه وقوانينه الخاصة به، ونظمه التركيبية والبلاغية التي يتطلب نقلها إلى العربية جهداً وفيراً. ورغم هذا فقد نجح الدامون في نقل ثقافة عصر بأكمله إلى قراء العربية، ما يشكّل إضافة مهمة إلى المكتبة العربية.
يتألف العمل من (21) مجموعة شعرية ينطوي تحت كل عنوان مجموعة من القصائد، وقد ختمها المترجم بنبذة عن حياة كل شاعر ورد إسمه في هذه الأنطولوجيا وهي ببليوغرافيا تشمل الشعراء: ألبير بيرو، ألين مارك، أبو لينير، أراغون بوسي، بيلو مارسيل، بيرن بيير، بيرت غوي، بنس جاك (...) وآخرون.
